Pre-Engineered Tension Structure Projects

Shelter-Rite Architectural Fabrics

A pre-engineered tension fabric structure, or frame structure, consists of an internal metal frame and an architectural fabric skin that is stretched over the frame. As the name indicates, these buildings are pre-engineered to specific sizes and design loads. The internal metal frame will consist of a series of arches, purlins and cable braces. The frame will be either an aluminum extrusion or a steel truss system. The strength of the architectural fabric that is used depends on the spacing of the arches and the design loads of the building.

Customers typically order buildings based on the size needed and the design load required for a specific site. The pre-engineered building package can be customized to accommodate special needs such as personnel and cargo doors, special colors and graphics, and insulation and liner systems. These buildings can also be heated and air-conditioned.

Typical uses of pre-engineered tension structures include warehousing, churches, casinos, sporting activities and manufacturing.
